Hello and a very warm welcome to all connected with Bletchley Rugby Club as our 1st XV make the trip to Bracknell Rugby Club to face their 2nd XV, in the Counties 1 Tribute Ale Southern North League. It’s always a pleasure when both teams face off against one another and is a game that is always played in the right spirit.
As ever, I would liek to thank our travelling supporters who have made their well here to Bracknell - your support means a great deal for the lads. I would also like to extend my thanks to our array of volunteers, coaches, players and supporters who make days like this possible. Your commitment keeps our club thriving both on and off the field.
Here’s to a fantastic game of rugby, and best of luck to both teams!
Come on Bletchley!

We caught up with Jamie Rice, a man of many positions - back row, hooker, and, in recent weeks, an unlikely but entertaining arrival on the wing - to dive into his rugby story, superstitions, and what keeps him coming back to The Manor year after year.
Jamie started playing rugby at age ten, finally giving in after his dad, Club Stalwart, Tony Rice - a lifelong rugby man - tried for years to get him involved. all it took was a trip to Bedford Blues which sealed the deal, and eventually he let his dad bring him down to Bletchley… where he’s stayed ever since.
His favourite moment in a Bletchley shirt takes him back to Windsor away: “My first and only try for the 1s. I was playing hooker, Cam put in his trademark cross-field kick, and the ball magically ended up in my hands.” A perfect combination of opportunism and sheer disbelief.
Matchday superstition? It’s less a ritual and more an institution: Jamie has worn the same iconic orange undershorts for every game since he was 15. He freely admits they “probably need a new pair,” but some things are too legendary to retire...even if they have began to leave nothing to the imagination.
When asked about the squad joker, he doesn’t hesitate: “Ollie Comery - he doesn’t try to be funny, but he is unintentionally. Never change, Comers.” And choosing between Netflix or a night out? Jamie lives in the middle ground: “Bit of both — I always plan to go home early, but I have no willpower and I’m very easily convinced.”
For him, home is where the heart is: “Home game at The Manor — you can’t beat it.” Sundays, however, don’t bring much rest. Jamie helps coach the Club's Academy team alongside his other seasoned 1st XV colleague, Jordan Murray, which means lie-ins are a myth and “days off” are mostly theoretical.
His goals this season are simple but meaningful: “I want to achieve 50 caps this year.” And when he talks about what he loves most about playing for Bletchley, he’s clear: “The lads - I've been playing with a lot of them since I was 17 or 18, and the new ones coming in have settled really well. They are a great bunch of lads and friends for life.”
We thank Jamie for his time — and wish him and the lads all the best today.
Go Well Boys!

Bletchley recorded a strong bonus-point victory at home on Saturday, producing a controlled and clinical display to beat Gosford All Blacks 33–14. With momentum building after last week’s win away at Oxford, the Maroon and White delivered another composed performance built on sharp execution, physicality in contact, and an almost unstoppable driving maul.
Bletchley came flying out of the blocks. At 3 minutes, wing Ollie Comery latched onto a pinpoint cross-field kick from fly half and vice captain Cam Watkins, outpacing his opposite number, scooping the bouncing ball and finishing cleanly...
The 2nd XV travelled to Sharnbrook for a well-contested friendly, and despite the scoreline, the boys showed huge heart, patches of real quality, and the kind of togetherness that sums up what the Maroon & White are all about.
The game sparked into life early when Sharnbrook capitalised on a turnover on their own 5m line, running the length to make it 7–0. Despite strong defensive passion on our own goal line, a knock-on under pressure handed the hosts another opportunity, and they took it clinically, stretching the lead to 28–0...
